Highlights
Eight hours is enough time to do this right. We'll fish multiple spots, follow the tide, change tactics when the water tells us to, and target whatever's running hardest. Sea-run Dolly Varden and cutthroat trout in the estuaries. Starry flounder where they're showing up. King salmon in late spring, sockeye and pinks through midsummer, silvers in fall. The full day gives us room to read conditions and move when something better is happening 20 minutes down the road.
This is private, wade-based, non-vessel fishing. No shared boats, no waiting your turn, no rushing through spots. Up to 4 anglers per trip — your group, your day. Fly rods are our specialty (Dominick ties every fly we use), but spinning rods are available, and many full-day trips switch between both as conditions change.

Warm layers — wool or synthetic, no cotton next to skin

Who this trip is for

An experienced fly fisher who wants real time on the water with someone who knows the local fishery

Frequently Asked
-
Yes, and many clients do. We bring both. If the water and conditions favor fly, we'll fly fish. If a spot is fishing better on spin, we'll switch. Or pick one and stay with it — your call.
-
Honest answer: it varies. Strong runs happen, slow runs happen. Conditions, timing, and luck all factor in. Dominick targets the highest-percentage water for the day, but Alaska doesn't promise anything to anyone. What we can promise is a real, focused day of fishing on water that doesn't see crowds.
-
On waters and species where harvest is legal under ADFG regulations, yes. We'll handle care of any fish you keep and get them ready for transport.
-
Almost always. The full day's biggest advantage is being able to move when fishing slows or when something better is happening elsewhere.
